About a Club

Dear owners of Polish Hounds and Polish Hunting Dogs and all who cares about the future of these „relics” of our National Tradition, which are both of these polish hunting breeds.

Polish Hound and Polish Hunting Dog Club is a commission in Central Directory of Polish Kennel Club (ZkwP). Club implements the tasks from Central Breeding Commitee of Polish Kennel Club. Our Club-commission is not an elective body chosen at General Members Meeting. It's appointed by the resolution of Central Directory on request of Central Breeding Commitee. Thats how the Club Chairman is going to elect. He can choose his Vice and Secretary. Because of a lot of issues waiting to accomplishment in both breeds, at current term will work for us two Secretaries. Club Board squad has been accepted by te Central Directory of Polish Kennel Club.

Every owner of Polish Hound and Polish Hunting Dog who is registrated in Polish Kennel Club and had paid membership fee, is a Member of the Club. Club activity is financing from funds transfered on Club account from Central Directory. Branch of the Kennel Club where the Chairman is registrated is carrying about funds settlement. This branch is also a Club placement during his term. Club fund is spent on current activity of the Club which is for example co-funding Club Show, buying a prizes, correspondence, keeping website, etc.

The main task for Club is to rise the standard of breeding both breeds. Specificity of issues which are waiting for execution in general breeding plan are exactly the same in both breeds and needs the same treatment. There is some of our statutory tasks: managing detailed documentation, collection and cataloging rates from shows and hunting contests, creating both breeds general database, managing the lists of litters, sires and kennels, publishing a list of expected litters. These documentation, private knowledge and experience will help you with f.a. seletcting a breeding pair, choosing a sire or info about kennels.

Our issue is also keeping close contact with dogs owners and making popular to check ALL the dogs in their hunting abilities, also promotion of workshops in that matter. Calendar (which you can find on our website) of kennel events organized by Polish Hunting Association (PZŁ) can make easier to take part in many contests all over the country. Many of it are organized especially for Polish Hounds and Polish Hunting dogs.

Additionally, thinking about the healthy future of our native breeds, we want to encourage you to make a radiograph of possible dysplasia present and eyes examination towards many sickness (including ectropium and entropium).

Polish Hound and Polish Hunting Dog Club – commision in Central Directory is formally an association, but still its „OUR” club. Because all of us – breeders, owners and colleagues from Club Board – are members of it. For all of us it's the same important issue – still progress of our beloved hounds and hunting dogs breeding system. We want beautiful and healthy dogs. We want every puppy-no matter from which kennel it becomes – to be grown as excellent hunting dog, watchful guardian, member of family and kids companion. Our dogs have this potential, we just have to uncover it and skilfully perpetuate. Rational work will certainly bring expected results.
